Ekalavya Source |
I choose the movie and I actually watch a ton of it. More than required for this reading diary at least.
First off, it was easier to keep the characters straight when they had faces that I could remember them by. I caught details that I didn't get while reading the stories. I enjoyed the beginning and how we are watching it being narrated. That part is awesome. It is weird at times when Vyasa at times interacts with the characters. One in particular was the river. He acts as the voice and controls the questions. Another time is during the battle he speaks a lot to Dhritarashtra. The movie helped me understand why he was blind and Pandu was pale.
Seeing the characteristics of each character portrayed in this movie was interesting. Some of the fighting was kind of lame but hey everything else was pretty cool. Karna was one of the characters I got a much better understanding off. He was pretty beastly in the movie. It helped me see his role and interactions between the two families.
I learned more about Yudhisthira even though he seemed wise he was really dumb in the gambling match. I wonder what would have happened if he had stopped after he lost the first game.
One character that I saw that I am still a bit confused about is Ekalavya. What is his role after he cuts off his finger for Drona?
