Week 6: Reading Diary A

Yudhisthira at the Lake Source

"Arjuna abode in Indra's fair city for the space of five years. He achieved great skill in music and in dance and song. And he was trained also to wield the celestial weapons which the gods had given unto him."

- It's good to be well versed.

After reading this, it was confusing to think about everyone who was in battle. I am on the search for a character map or some kind of tree to help me separate all of these names out. It was difficult to see friends and mentors fight against those for which they cared. All of this was spawn from greed and gambling. I learned to never gamble away your entire kingdom. I was interested to see both elder mentors side opposed to the pandava brothers.

Riddles at the Lake shows the importance of wisdom as all the brothers fell dead from drinking the water. Yudhishthira as foolish as he was gambling knew the answers to the questions.

Karna found out too late about his family because that's a shame. He know is going to fight against his brothers. There was a lot of this strife.

This half of the story was a bit better but I don't get the reasoning for gambling away the whole kingdom. I was fairly surprised when that happened.
